We've wrapped up the week and are working hard to bring you exciting new products that will surprise and delight you. We recently added Ingersoll to our team, and I want to share a bit more about their story.
Robert H. Ingersoll and his brother Charles founded the Ingersoll Watch Company, one of the oldest American watchmakers. The Ingersoll brothers were pioneers of the watchmaking industry and innovation. They devised and pursued an ambitious plan: to offer Ingersoll watches to the general public at an affordable price, while maintaining genuine quality and credibility.
Based in New York City, each watch was initially produced by hand, but in 1892, thanks to Henry Ford, Ingersoll managed to develop a production line for pocket watches and wristwatches.
Ingersoll Watch Company grew with demand and made new advances in watchmaking; developing functions and features to create, among others:
- The smallest pocket watch in existence.
- The first clock that lit up in the dark, called “RADIOLITE”
- The first military watch, which was designed with the participation of the armed forces.
- The first watch with characters, which Disney commissioned with the famous Mickey Mouse.
Ingersoll watches have been consistently popular since their inception, and today the Ingersoll brand is recognized worldwide. Ingersoll continues to uphold the spirit of its founders and is proud to present its new range of watches, now available at Cardell. You can explore part of the Ingersoll collection at the following link, and as always, please feel free to leave any questions in the comments.
